Freya Simpson Giles

Freya Simpson Giles

Director

Raised in Hong Kong, Freya Simpson Giles returned to the UK to finish her secondary education and attend university. Having attained a degree in Linguistics, she worked as an in-house writer and editor for over ten years, first for an NGO then a major international publisher. Then, after several years working as a freelancer, she set up Giles Publications in response to a growing demand for her services. As a linguistic traditionalist, she has struggled to accept the many words that now hold a place in modern communications – ‘unfriend’ and ‘texted’ among them.
